So I bought this game on the steam sale and started playing. I was having a great time. I dont see why everyone thinks this is a shitty port. It runs smooth and I have had no problems. I then found out that the FPS is capped at 30 so I thought I would look for a unlock or mod or something for the cap. I found one on the steam forum and put it on the game. I then went to play and got this error. AppId is not configured. The error box has one button 'OK' so i click ok and it brings up this fatal error box with a bunch of info and a send error report button and so on. I have tried many things to fix this problem.
1. uninstalled the game and deleted my game save and settings ini file.
2. deleted the steam clients dlls 32 and 64 to force a steam update upon restart
3. deleted the reg blob
So I dont know what the fuck is going on with this game can someone help me. Also that fatal error box that came up told me to delete the settings ini file and restart the game. This does nothing.
These Application IDs can, for example, be used in conjunction with Steam via these paths:
May 13, 2016 I feel you, man. Where I live now I have a 100/100mbit fiber connection so I can download and delete games from steam whenever I want. Where I lived before we had 20mbit line with a 200 Gb transfer limit per month. So If I wanted to download a game like doom I would use up more than 1/5'th of my entire months transfer limit. Classic doom download pc free.

Groups the configuration options for one or more DCOM objects into one centralized location in the registry. DCOM objects hosted by the same executable are grouped into one AppID to simplify the management of common security and configuration settings.
Registry Key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesAppID{AppID_GUID}
Remarks
AppIDs are mapped to executables and classes using two different mechanisms:
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClasses key corresponds to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT key, which was retained for compatibility with earlier versions of COM.
For COM servers, the mapping is usually generated and written to the registry during the registration process or when running dcomcnfg.exe. However, COM clients that want to set security using the AppID key must create appropriate registry keys and specify the required mapping by calling the registry functions or using Regedit.exe. Then values such as AccessPermission or AuthenticationLevel can be set for the client. For example, suppose the name of your executable for your client process is 'YourClient.exe' and you want to set the authentication level to 'None'. You would use Guidgen.exe or Uuidgen.exe to create the GUID that is the AppID for your executable. Then you would set values in the registry as shown in the following example, where 00000001 represents an authentication level of 'None':
